The criticism of technology is easy. Everyone does it. The harder thing is to be specific: what exactly is changing, in whose lives, and with what trade-offs? These books do the harder thing. None of them are purely anti-technology. They are written by people who understand how these systems work and care enough to be honest about the costs. The questions they raise — about attention, privacy, manipulation, and who profits — are not going away, and these books give you better language for thinking through them.
